Overview
US Digital is an award-winning manufacturer of motion control products including encoders and inclinometers, one of the last of its kind to design, build and ship parts domestically from their Vancouver, Washington facility.
As one of three principal members of US Digital’s internal Web & Multimedia Design team, I have worked with my colleagues Erik Jung and Peter Wooley to give US Digital the visual and user experience refresh the company deserves.
As the team’s Interaction Designer I have been most engrossed in the front-end, visual aspects of our new customer experience, from the identity refresh through interface design and type treatments. The team’s list of tasks and accomplishments is varied and eclectic, but our focus includes:
- Identity and branding design
- Entirely new web site design with custom framework and CMS
- Mobile site for emerging markets
- Continued marketing efforts in new and traditional media
In 2009, I wished US Digital a fond farewell as I began the next chapter of my career. I summarized the lessons I learned from them in a February journal entry.
