Overview
TweetPlus uses the Twitter and Google AJAX Feed APIs to find where your friends are blogging. Simply enter your (or any user’s) Twitter username and TweetPlus will find their friends, ask Google where they blog and show you the results. If you enjoy what your friends are saying in your Twitter feed, you may just discover a wealth of wonderful content that exists beyond the limits of 140 characters.
Something of a follow-up to my Twitter/Flickr mashup Portwiture, TweetPlus is similarly constructed with a mixture of jQuery and PHP. Users can easily view, subscribe to or pass along any of their discoveries.
Web strategist Gennefer Snowfield called the app “awesome,” praising its ability to “[find] blogs from your Twitter friends even if it’s not a link in their profile.”
TweetPlus won the 2010 WebVisionary Award for best mashup. Judges said the “instant personalization and simplicity” made for a “surprisingly compelling” web app.
